Pipers new "thing"....

Ok, don't really know how I feel about this....well, I don't really care for it. Michael set up his old, junker, antique of a computer up in the basement for Piper to learn how to click and point, get interested in technology stuff. Well, she got the hang of it, and now if I don't watch it, the next thing you know she will be sitting in the chair, pizza boxes and empty mountain dew cans strewn about, a little on the husky side, begging me to take her to the gencon convention for her birthday to meet her "cyber friends". She loves it so much (she plays sesame street games) that I'm limiting it to about 30 minutes in the morning (basically so I can read my daily blogs and drink coffee in peace...) Anyway, mark my word, we will never had a gaming system in the home, I hate the thought of x-box or nintendo in the house....a total time burgler. But a computer, well, hopefully it's a little different, I keep telling myself that.

I'm feelin' good...spa day!

Betsy, Christi, and Melinda....looking wonderfully refreshed after their "treatments"....hanging out in our personal "living room"...

Christi, Myself, and Julie getting our fingers taken care of. I learned something while I was getting my first ever manicure....I have over-active cuticles....who would have known!

Yesterday was a great day for this momma....

The day started with my children sleeping until 8 am (Nola through the night, no night feeding) so this Mom slept through the night from about 10:30 pm to 8 am!!! Then, the day only got better when I kissed the children good-bye with the babysitter and had a spa day with some friends. It was an afternoon of manicures, pedicures, facials, eyebrow arches, and massages! Oh, and I can't forget the cookies, chocolate and champagne with strawberries!

Throwback Thursday - newborn sister Jenna...

This weeks installment of Throwback Thursday is of myself (pigtails, that was my signature look for a few years), Sister Jayme (the blond, still her trademark look) and new baby Jenna. I chose this photo for 2 reasons. One, I can really see a resemblance in Nola with this picture, I think it's in the eyes and mouth. I think Jenna has a little more meat on her bones than Nola, but the similarities are there. Also, it was Jenna's birthday last week (23 right?) and I can't believe how time flies!

My baby's growing too fast...

I have a 10 week old baby and I'm already mourning stages we pass! Last night was Nola's first night in her bedroom and crib. The picture here is from the Sunday night, the last night she slept in her bassinet next to me. As you can see, she stretched from one end to the other, with not much room for anything else. I know she will sleep better in her room...Michael claims we both snore (he should speak for himself only) and she does seem to be a light sleeper, waking up at every sound, including his alarm in the morning. Don't get me wrong, I really would love some more sleep....I just feel she is growing too fast and will miss her right next to me. I don't think I felt this sentimental with Piper and I think it's because I was naive to how quickly she would grow. Now, knowing how truly fast time flies, I'm more sensitive when little milestones are passed. But, she did sleep from 10pm to 5am in her own crib....that's more sleep than usual.

AppleWorks....

This past Saturday we ventured out into the great unknown, about an hour South of where we live to a cool little apple orchard called Appleworks. Unfortunately, due to a low crop caused by a summers worth of drought, they we not letting any U-pick. But, we got to do many other things like pick our own pumpkin, ride on a cool little train, and visit a petting zoo with the biggest donkey ever! The weather was great, and the outing was a great way to relax. Plus, we took home a huge bag of apples, apple doughnuts, and apple cider!

she's crafty...

As I now have a tiny baby and have gone back to work, I find it increasingly hard to entertain Piper on a daily basis. She is soooooo incredibly busy and active, she need much more stimulus than I can provide for her. As I try to be a good mother, and not use the TV to babysit her, I am always looking for creative, educational, non-battery operated toys for her to play with. This is my new find, and it's so fun to play with...it's Playfoam. It's along the dame lines as playdough, but it never dries out (that's what the package says), does not stick to your hands or any other surface, and it's made out of these tiny sculpting beads. Anyway, we had a good hour of fun with it yesterday till it was time to move onto "something better", as Piper would call it.
